The University College London (UCL) is offering the IOE Centenary Doctoral Scholarship to international students commencing studies at the University on October for the 2023 – 2024 academic year. The scholarship is given in partnership with the International Students House (ISH) and targets majorly students from low and middle income countries.

The University College London (UCL) is widely known as the London’s Global University. It is a member of the elite Russell Group of UK universities and is also part of the League of European Research Universities, a consortium of European research universities that seek to influence policy in Europe and to develop best practices through mutual exchange of experience. UCL offers over 650 UCL master’s programmes and 500 undergraduate degrees on various course types.
The University major aim is in promoting the idea of education for global citizenship. This is achieved by making sure students are given the freedom and encouragement to explore ideas from different cultural perspectives while working on projects of international importance. UCL is consistently ranked as one of the top ten universities in the world. Currently is is ranked #9 in QS World University Rankings 2024.
Level/Field of Study: PhD degree programmes in eligible courses offered at the Institute of Education(IOE). The online MPhil/PhD, EdD and the Educational Psychology (Professional Educational, Child and Adolescent Psychology) DEdPsy are not eligible for the scholarship.

Benefits of the Scholarship
The is in sponsorship with ISH and IOE respectively. The IOE Centenary Doctoral Scholarship covers the tuition fees and accommodation expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should:
- be citizens and residents of a low or middle income country with a GNI not higher than $8000 per capita (as per the World Bank GNI per capita classification tables)
- have an unconditional offer to study a full time MPhil/PhD degree in London at the UCL Institute of Education (October 2023 start)

Research proposals which were submitted with the original course application will be taken into account as part of the scholarship application.
