International Postgraduate Merit Scholarships: The University of Sheffield, UK Scholarships are offered to both domestic and international students. The scholarships aim to support academically outstanding student who are in need of fund to further their studies.

The award is made up of 125 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships to be offered to international students.

Scholarship Value

The merit scholarship can be provided for a maximum of 2 full-time academic years. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount only. Generally, each scholarship worth £5,000 channeled towards the original tuition fee for a postgraduate taught programme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must hold an offer to study at the University of Sheffield.
  • Distance learning courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
  • All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
  • Applicant must be self-funded and required to pay the overseas tuition fee.
  • Anyone studying a Masters/integrated PhD programme is eligible for a merit scholarship in the Masters element of the programme only.
  • Applicant must a strong academic records.

How To Apply

Applicant are required to first apply for Master in any eligible postgraduate taught programme at the university. When offered an admission into the university, applicant can proceed to apply for the scholarship.  A panel of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications based on the selection criteria.
