Illinois Wesleyan University, U.S.A offers a series of scholarships to international students who are to pursue their first degree program at the university. The scholarships is for the first year of Bachelors degree program and channeled towards students in need of financial aid in their studies and as well not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.

Category of the Scholarship
The Merit – Based Scholarships: These are offered to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams. These awards range from $16,000 to $30,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. Students who complete the admissions application are automatically considered for scholarships.
President’s Scholarships: Two full-tuition scholarships are awarded each year to highly qualified international students based on their talents, interests and academic achievements. The President’s scholarship is renewable for up to four years of study.
Need – Based Financial Aid: In addition to merit scholarships, students may be eligible for IWU-funded scholarships, loans, and campus-employment opportunities.

The eligibility status for the scholarships varies as follows:
- For Merit-Based Scholarships, applicant must be an international students with great academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams.
- For President’s Scholarships, applicant must be a highly qualified international students based on their talents, interests and academic achievements.
Application Procedure
Each scholarship has its application procedures. They are as follows:
For Merit – Based Scholarship, students who applied for admission into the university are automatically considered for the scholarship.
For President’s Scholarship, the scholarship application must be completed and submitted by 15th February, 2023 for the Fall 2023 entry.
For Need-Based Financial Aids, students applying for this are to submit the CSS PROFILE to be considered for need-based financial aid. The PROFILE provides a detailed analysis of an applicant’s financial resources.
