The University of Nevada, Reno USA is offering the Graduate Dean’s Merit scholarship for master’s and doctoral degree in the university. The scholarship is targeted to students who show potential to make great contributions in their field of study and is offered annually.
University Overview
The University of Nevada in Reno USA is a public institution founded in 1874. It specializes in earthquake research and is home to one of the largest earthquake-simulation laboratories in the country. The University is known for its intensive research. According to the National Science Foundation, the university spent $144 million on research and development in 2018.
It houses a good number of Faculties that offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including business, education, medicine and engineering. In the 2024 edition of Best Colleges of National Universities, University of Nevada, Reno is ranked #195.

Benefits of Graduate Dean’s Merit Scholarship
The amount of the one-year scholarship is $10,000 ($5,000 per semester) for new admits or $5,000 ($2,500 per semester) for continuing grad students per academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, the following criteria are to be meet by the applicant:
- Applicant be a fully admitted incoming domestic or international students with an offer of admission from the university.
- Candidate should have a good record of academic performance and should be able to maintain the standard through out the duration of the scholarship.
- The applicant must meet the minimum requirements for admission to a doctoral or master’s degree-granting program at the University of Nevada
- Scholarship recipients must meet the requirements for satisfactory academic progress for financial aid.
How To Apply
Interested students applying for the grant, applicants need to take part in an undergraduate degree program at the university by applying for an admission at the university. Application for the scholarship is to be made via the online application portal.
