Requirements for Australian Visa from Nigeria.

Individuals that want to apply for Australian Visa have to first fulfill the Australian character requirements.  They would be needed to prove they don’t have any criminal record which might have kept them in prison for a minimum of one year. Also, a police certificate will be required to back this claim. Apart from these, the following documents are required for Australian visa application:

  • A Nigerian passport (32 pages or 64 pages) that has a minimum of six months validity period left.
  • A passport photograph sized 45mm by 35mm and taken recently, with a white background.
  • Photocopies of your ID card and passport.
  • A visa application Form 157A that is already filled (this requirement only applies to applicants for the Australian student visa).
  • Medical check report.
  • Itinerary
  • Employment letter.
  • Bank statement.
  • Hotel reservation.

Application Process for Australian Student Visa in Nigeria.

For Nigerians applying for Australian Visa, there are two mode of application – online and offline application. Application via online mode requires filling of online application while the later requires filling of visa application form and submitting the form manually to the Visa Application Center ( VAC). However, the later process is no longer used as the Australian Government does not provide visa services at the Australian High Commission in Abuja. Rather, the former process known as online lodgement is preferably used. Listed below are the steps you will take to apply for Australian visa online:

  • Sign up for an ImmiAccount.
  • lodge and pay for your visa application;
  • continue a saved application;
  • attach documents if required; and
  • check the progress of your application.

Alternative to online lodgement is a paper application for some visa type at TLScontact Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Nigeria. However, following this process incurs an additional service fee payable to TLScontact.
